As Australia Day, January 26 falls on a Sunday in 2014, both that day and the following Monday, January 27 will be Public Holidays in South Australia. This is as prescribed under s 3(b)(1) of the Holidays Act 1910 (SA) as was advised in Member Update No 5 of 9 January 2014.
All members, regardless of whether covered by the Hospitality Industry (General) Award 2010 ('HIGA') or a Collective/Enterprise Agreement, must ensure that all employees receive the appropriate Public Holiday entitlements, if applicable, for both Sunday January 26 and Monday January 27.
